Accepting these terms

By visiting or using abatherapymississauga.ca (the "Website"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website. Services you receive from us are covered by your service agreement, which prevails over these terms if they conflict.

About the Website and our services

The Website is operated by ABA Therapy Mississauga, an ABA provider serving families in Mississauga, Peel Region and across Ontario. It describes our in-home ABA therapy, ABA support at daycare, early intervention, child autism assessments, virtual autism therapy and parent coaching, and lets you request a free consultation.

General information, not professional advice

Articles, guides, FAQs and service pages are for general education. They do not diagnose, treat or replace individualized clinical, medical, legal or financial advice. Every child is different, so a BCBA will recommend a plan only after speaking with you and assessing your child. Always consult a qualified professional about your child's health, development or safety.

We work to keep information accurate and current, but it may contain errors or become outdated, and we do not promise that it is complete.

No client relationship through the Website

Visiting the Website, reading its content or submitting the consultation form does not create a client or therapeutic relationship and does not guarantee a place in any program. A relationship begins only when we agree to provide services, normally after a consultation, an assessment, an approved plan and a signed service agreement.

Emergencies

The Website and its form are not monitored for emergencies. If a child or anyone else is in immediate danger, or you need urgent medical or mental health help, call 911 or your local emergency service.

Service availability, assessments and results

Service areas, schedules, wait times, start dates and program recommendations depend on your child's needs, our clinical capacity and your location, and are confirmed during consultation and assessment. A BCBA decides which service, setting and hours are clinically appropriate, and nothing starts until you approve the plan.

ABA support aims to build skills such as communication, social interaction, daily living and learning readiness. Progress varies from child to child, so we cannot promise a particular outcome or timeline.

Virtual ABA therapy

Virtual ABA therapy is delivered by live video. It needs a suitable device with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection and a quiet space, and a caregiver may need to take part, especially with younger children. Online care is not right for every child. If another setting is safer or more effective, we will tell you and recommend it, including in-person or hybrid support. Sessions are not recorded without your written consent.

Funding, OAP and insurance information

We explain how funding can work, including the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and private health insurance. Eligibility, amounts, rules and timelines are decided by the Government of Ontario, your insurer and other third parties, and they can change. What we say on the Website or in a consultation is general guidance, not a guarantee of approval or payment. Please confirm details with the funder, and we will help you understand the next steps.

Professional registration

Behaviour analysts in Ontario are regulated by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. You can ask us for a clinician's registration details and check them on the College's public register.

Your enquiries and the information you send

Please give accurate information and do not submit anything unlawful, misleading or harmful, or information about someone else without their authority. By sending us an enquiry you allow us to use it to respond, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may decline to respond to messages that are abusive, spam or unrelated to our services.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • try to gain unauthorized access to the Website, our systems or other users' information;
  • interfere with or overload the Website, or introduce malicious code;
  • copy, scrape or harvest content or data by automated means;
  • use the Website to harass others, send spam or break any law.

Content and intellectual property

You may view and share links to pages and print them for personal, non-commercial use. Any other copying, republishing or commercial use needs our written permission.

The Website links to third-party sites such as government, regulator and Google pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

Disclaimers and limits of liability

The Website is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for losses from relying on general website content or from interruptions, errors or security issues beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your rights under consumer protection and privacy laws, or the duties we owe you as a care provider under a service agreement.

Changes, governing law and accessibility

We may change the Website or these terms from time to time. The updated version applies from the "last updated" date at the top, and continued use means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute about the Website, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.

We want the Website to be usable by everyone. If you have trouble reading or using any part of it, contact us and we will help you get the information in another way.
